Cheung Hing has always been our go to restaurant for years! They continue to have great customer service at the 3 locations we frequent (SSF, Millbrae and San Francisco). The roast duck is ........YUM!!! They also make this fried wonton soup with crab meat which is my fav along with the salt and pepper chicken wings!! For parties, they are my go to for their roast duck, chow mein and fried chicken!

It's 3.5 stars to be exact. To stay in that good Chinese restaurant star level. Good Cantonese BBQ, ordered the roast duck, roast pork and the cha siu. All we're done as you'd expect. Duck was maybe a bit gamier than other spots, but it was very meaty. Roast pork skin was crispy, and the layers of fat, meat and skin were fairly consistent throughout the cut. Similar to what you would get in HK. The cut I got was probably on the less fatty side. I'll probably try to ask for a fattier cut next time and see if that enhances the flavor and taste. Cha siu was standard for SF. My pops liked it. I found it to be on the drier side. I'm more accustomed to HK cha siu with like a thick honey glaze dripping off succulent meat. Yes, I would probably come back here to retry the roast pork. I feel like the spot on Ocean, Ming's might have better duck.

Food is great. Most dishes are traditionally made the right way & the flavor is spot on. My favorite is the snow pea shoots when i feel i need veggies, and my favorite is the tomato beef on pan fried noodles, steamed chicken & rice with ginger sauce. I love the sauce i always ask for extra. The egg flower soup is just right for my dietary needs. I go to the one in San Mateo for work lunch. The waitresses tend to my needs quick & fast if i'm down to a 1/2 hr lunch. My favorite waitress knows my routine so well & takes care of me. A big tip, they remember you for & should treat you better. Sometimes i don't want to wait & grab my own to go to boxes & pack up when i see they are super busy. Im one not to get mad at the restaurant staff. They don't say anything which is great cause i don't want to hear any comments or being smothered. I love it at other restaurants when you are in the middle of eating & talking to your dining friend when they ask you if you need anything. I mean sarcastically "no" dont bother me, really but i like it when you do your job appropriately. You will get a nice tip. Thats me. People who do not know the staff or what to order think that the staff is rude. You feel like they are yelling at you or look at you with no smile but i like the food & thats what i go there for. Its a regular old chinese attitude that goes a long way back. If you go to Sam Wo in chinatown, the funny history about Edsel Ford is that he was a famous waiter for being funny rude & mean to the customers. He made a customer wash the dishes...can you imagine that? Our old chinese attitude was always rude & mean. I dont know why but they think its funny & gets away with it all the time especially in crowded busy areas. Fast service & good food. Thats their style.

We were too lazy too cook last night so we decided to swing by here for dinner. We walked in and we're seated pretty much immediately. The lady that took our order honestly seemed a little rude and didn't want to be there. I read her the number of what we wanted and she rudely said "I don't know what that is". Personally just felt like she could've asked me to clarify which dish it was. So fine, whatever brushed it off. We ordered the West lake minced beef soup, young zhou fried rice, fish with tender greens, and the beef fillet with assorted mushrooms. Everything came out piping hot & smelled really good. The west lake minced beef soup was flavorful & had quite a bit of beef in there so they definitely don't skimp on anything. We thought the fish with tender greens was just okay. I enjoyed the beef fillet with assorted mushrooms and would definitely recommend this dish. The beef and mushrooms were all very flavorful, and not overcooked. The young zhou fried rice I would probably pass on. We've ordered this at other restaurants and it seems like this one is super bland in comparison to what we've had before. At the end of our meal, another server brought us two bowls of red bean dessert which I appreciated. I didn't think they'd actually offer traditional dessert with our meal so it was a nice surprise. Overall, I'd come and eat here again although a few of the dishes were misses. Will have to just order other dishes next time. My family has ordered takeout from here before in the past and quite like it.
